Embattled 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith is not being charged by the Los Angeles City Attorney regarding his April arrest for allegedly making a false bomb threat at LAX.

Smith instead is scheduled to have a July 30 hearing with the City Attorney's Office to discuss the matter and suggest ways on avoiding similar incidents, according to an office spokesperson.

Smith will be sentenced July 25 in Santa Clara Superior Court after pleading no contest to felony weapons and misdemeanor drunk driving charges. The 49ers open training camp two days earlier. Smith could be facing discipline from the NFL for his off-field incidents.
