The Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter have experienced a noticeable increase in the number of stray healthy and well cared-for dogs coming to the shelter. Sadly, many have not been claimed by their owners. One example is number A023595 -- a toy black-and-tan miniature pinscher and Chihuahua mix, about 3 years old.
Does this dog sound familiar? Maybe you or your neighbor are missing it? More information about it and all the pets at the Alameda Animal Shelter is available at Petfinder.com. Please remember that if you lose your pet in Alameda, the animal may be at the animal shelter, so call us at 510-337-8565 or come here during open hours and see if your pet is here. The shelter is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. They are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
When you adopt a new best pet friend from now until Nov. 18, the shelter will let you decide the adoption fee! The shelter will accept any adoption fee of at least $5 for any pet in the shelter. Anyone paying $25 or more will receive a gift in addition to his new companion. The adoption process will remain the same as always, but now you'll have the opportunity to put your own price on adorable animals waiting for their new homes.
Every pet at the Alameda Animal Shelter has received a health and behavior checkup, is microchipped, vaccinated and is spayed and neutered before adoption.
The shelter's 2013 calendar is available for purchase. Visit the shelter website to see a collage of the pets highlighted in the calendar, and visit the shelter or call 510-337-8565 to purchase the calendar. Like the shelter on Facebook at www.facebook.com/FAAS09?ref=hl
