Berkeley East Bay Humane Society

Laima needed emergency surgery to repair a diaphragmatic hernia when she came to the Berkeley East Bay Humane Society. We created a Chip-in web page for her and asked our Facebook followers to help cover the cost of her surgery, which would be between $4,000 and $5,000. Over 50 very generous donors raised $3,000 for the cause, and one donor chipped in for the remaining amount. A truly amazing effort.

A note from her foster caregiver: "Laima is very gentle and sweet. She walks gingerly (her surgery site is probably the reason) so she prefers to sit, get pets, and watch the world go on around her. She is very happy, loving, and social."

A big thank you again to all who helped us cover the cost of Laima's emergency surgery. We are so excited to help her find her loving forever home.
