NAPA -- The host Justin-Siena High football team scored 28 points in the second half to pull away from No. 9 St. Mary's and advance to the North Coast Section Division IV semifinals with a 48-14 victory on Friday.

The Braves jumped out to a 12-0 lead in the first quarter. But St. Mary's (6-6) got on the board with 11:05 left in the first half. Quarterback Kevin Flemer found Caleb Coleman open for a 9-yard touchdown to cut the Braves' lead to 12-7.

But Justin-Siena (9-2) drove 70 yards on eight plays on its next possession, capped by a 15-yard touchdown run by Austin Connolly.

Justin-Siena scored two touchdowns in the third quarter. The first came on quarterback Marcus Armstrong-Brown's 47-yard run. The Braves extended their lead on the first play of their next possession when running back Steven Lum found the end zone on a 35-yard run.

In the first half, the Panthers had just 17 yards rushing on eight carries, but Flemer completed 9 of 18 passes for 114 yards. His top target was Coleman, who caught five passes for 87 yards in the first two quarters.

The other score for St. Mary's came on a 96-yard kickoff return by Coleman, making the score 41-14.

Justin-Siena will host the winner of Saturday's quarterfinal game between Arcata and Fort Bragg next Friday.
