Princess Purple Rain is a sweet 7-year-old cat who has faced rough times, suffering severe trauma, possibly from being hit by a car, and having her right hind leg amputated. PPR also has a hyperthyroid condition that will require lifelong medication to manage. She prefers a calm environment where she can fully relax to enjoy head scratches and just hanging out.

A note from her foster family: "Princess Purple Rain seeks attention most the time, making her a reliable sofa and TV companion. She will hang out with us for hours. If she gets bored she can go amuse herself somewhere else. She enjoys having company during her meals -- you can hear her purr as she eats. Being a Siamese she is chatty and enjoys talking to us about her day. We've noticed that she can be spooked easily by loud noises, so be sure to take it slow with her. She is extremely affectionate and would be a wonderful forever friend."

PPR's adoption fee has been waived thanks to a donation from Maddie's Fund. To meet her stop by the society shelter at 2700 Ninth St. in Berkeley during adoption hours from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Details: cats@berkeleyhumane.org or 510-845-3633, ext. 14.
