  • THEFT -- Security at Target reported at 1:30 p.m. that a man had just stolen several CDs and fled on a bicycle.

    TUESDAY, April 30

  • ATTEMPTED THEFT -- At 1 p.m. a caller reported that a man had attempted to steal a bicycle on Santa Fe Avenue, but fled when the victim pushed him off the bike.

  • THEFT RECOVERY -- CosmoProf on San Pablo Avenue reported at 4:30 p.m. that a woman attempted to steal $100 in fingernail polish, but gave it back when confronted.

    THURSDAY, May 2

  • ACCIDENT -- At 1 p.m. officers investigating an accident on Curtis Street arrested an Albany man in the 900 block of Buchanan Street for suspicion of hit and run.

  • THEFT -- Someone described as a teenage boy was reported taking a street sign near Evelyn and Washington avenues. Officers contacted a youth matching the description near Evelyn Avenue and Garfield Street who said he had found the sign. He was admonished and allowed to depart.

  • SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY -- At 11:30 p.m. an Evelyn Avenue resident reported that a man had tried to open the front door of the home, then got into a black four-door vehicle with another man and sat there for about five minutes.

    FRIDAY, May 3

  • DUI -- Officers stopped a vehicle in the 1100 block of Masonic Avenue at 2:30 a.m. for a vehicle code violation and arrested a Berkeley man for suspicion of two counts of DUI.

  • BIKE STOLEN -- At 3 a.m. a caller reported that someone had just stolen a blue bike with a black bag from their home.

  • CAR STOLEN -- A rental car was stolen overnight near Brighton and Talbot avenues.

  • AUTO BREAK-IN -- An iPod was stolen overnight from a car on Spokane Street.

  • ACCIDENT -- At 11:30 p.m. officers responded to an accident involving a vehicle and a light pole on San Pablo Avenue near Castro Street. They arrested an Albany man for suspicion of hit and run and resisting arrest.

    SATURDAY, May 4

  • INTOXICATED -- A Moreno Valley man who appeared to be passed out on the sidewalk in the 800 block of San Pablo Avenue at 3:30 a.m. was arrested for suspicion of disorderly conduct.

  • ATTEMPTED BREAK-IN -- At 5:30 a.m. a man was reported attempting to break into the Gold Center in the 500 block of San Pablo Avenue.

  • ASSISTANCE -- Officers responded to Taco Bell on San Pablo Avenue at 8 p.m. on a report of a man in the lobby who appeared to have been drinking. Officers arranged for transportation to his home.

  • DRUGS -- At 10:30 p.m. officers arrested a Richmond man for suspicion of two counts of drug possession near Garfield Street and San Pablo Avenue.

    SUNDAY, May 5

  • AUTO THEFT -- A natural gas vehicle was stolen during the day on Kains Avenue.

    MONDAY, May 6

  • ARREST -- At 12:30 a.m. officers arrested a transient man in front of Max's Liquors on San Pablo Avenue who appeared to be very intoxicated for suspicion of disorderly conduct.

    -- Kristina Osborn
