Albany police log: Store holdups; a copper theft; street robberies and an indecent exposure incident reported

MONDAY, June 10 THEFT -- Items were stolen overnight from an unlocked car on Cornell Avenue. CLUMSY DRIVER -- At 3:30 p.m. officers responded to the north parking lot of Golden Gate Fields on reports that a car had run into and was stuck in the fence.
TUESDAY, June 11 AUTO THEFT -- At 2 p.m. officers assisting El Cerrito police to assist in a stolen auto investigation arrested an Albany man at a residence on the 600 block of San Carlos Street. PHONY BILLS -- The manager at Albany Hill Mini Mart reported a man had tried to pass counterfeit bills that looked like they had been printed on a copy machine. He fled north on San Pablo in a white Nissan.
WEDNESDAY, June 12 BREAK-IN -- Property was stolen overnight from The Gold Center on Solano Avenue. ARMED ROBBERY -- A juvenile stole a pedestrian's wallet on Jackson Street and fled with four other teenage males to a car with a male driver. ATTEMPTED ROBBERY -- At 5 p.m. three men broke a display case at Beverages and More on San Pablo Avenue and then fled. The manager had video of the crime.
THURSDAY, June 13 INDECENT EXPOSURE -- A caller said she was walking near Masonic Avenue and Dartmouth Street at 9:30 a.m. when a man exposed himself. DRUGS -- The Albany Middle School assistant principal reported a student was in possession of a large amount of drugs. AUTO BREAK-IN -- Two in the Taco Bell lot on San Pablo Avenue reportedly smashed the window of a PT Cruiser and stole items. THEFT -- A computer and wallet were stolen from an unlocked car on Masonic Avenue.
FRIDAY, June 14 ATTACK -- An attack and robbery was reported at Memorial Park. The juvenile attacker fled on Ramona Avenue. ROBBERY -- A strong-arm robbery by two men on San Pablo Avenue was reported.
SATURDAY, June 15 DISTURBANCE -- Officers warned a group of juveniles on Adams Street at 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. about excessive noise. CARELESS THIEF -- Safeway reported a man had cut copper wire from the building that was on his bicycle outside. Officers arrested the transient man, who lives at the Albany landfill, for suspicion of petty theft and resisting arrest. DUI -- An Oakland man was arrested for suspicion of DUI at Cleveland Avenue near Solano Avenue at 11:30 p.m.
SUNDAY, June 16 NOISE -- At 12:30 a.m. officers warned a boisterous party at a Garfield Street residence. DOUBLE ARREST -- A Washington woman and Stockton man were arrested in the 800 block of San Pablo Avenue at 5 p.m. on suspicion of being in possession of stolen property. The woman was also arrested for drug possession and the man for probation violation.
MONDAY, June 17 DUI -- At 1 a.m. officers stopped a vehicle near Marin and San Pablo avenues for a vehicle code violation and arrested an El Cerrito man for suspicion of two counts of DUI.
