PLEASANTON -- A parade of dogs led off the festivities Saturday to celebrate 10 years of dog reading.
Paws to Read is the program at the Pleasanton Library in which dog volunteers are signed up to listen to young students practice their reading. The non-threatening audience helps boost student confidence, and gives the dog volunteers some quality lap sitting time as well.
For the celebration, there was a parade to the library, dog training lessons, and fun games and events for dogs, owners and students.
