Katherine Webb, also known as Miss Alabama 2012, says she wasn't creeped out by 73-year-old sportscaster Brent Musburger ogling her during college football's national championship game on Monday.
We're pretty sure she's in the minority on that one.
Webb, 23, is the girlfriend of Alabama star quarterback A.J. McCarron and, yes, a beauty pageant winner. Toward the end of the first quarter, with Alabama already up 14-0, a shot of Webb popped up on the TV screen. And Musburger pretty much forgot there was a football game happening in front of him.
"Wow, I'm telling you. You quarterbacks, you get all the good-looking women," Musburger said to fellow announcer Kirk Herbstreit. "So, if you're a youngster in Alabama, start getting a football out and throw it around the backyard with Pops! What a beautiful woman. Wow."
Don't the old guys always throw footballs around the back yard in those Viagra commercials?
The cameras later made their way to Webb when the score became 28-0 and, sure enough, at the end of the game.
"There is Miss Alabama, with the victory kiss," Musburger said.
Reaction on Twitter and elsewhere made it clear that plenty of viewers found Musburger's remarks inappropriate.
Webb apparently didn't mind the attention.
"It was kind of nice," she told the Associated Press on Tuesday. "I didn't look at it as creepy at all. For a woman to be called beautiful, I don't see how that's an issue."
Right. Until Brent Musburger shows up in the bushes outside your house.
Webb said that during the game, her iPhone was dead, but several friends seated nearby showed her what was happening on Twitter and pointed out that pictures of her were being shown on TV.
"I just couldn't believe it," she said. "I was just in complete surprise."
Dee Dee Bonner, McCarron's mother, said the two laughed in the stands as Webb's Twitter count grew.
"We were like, 'Oh my God,'" Bonner said. "She said, 'All I want to do is date your son.' We've been laughing about it. It's quite shocking."
As of 4 p.m. Tuesday, Webb had topped 163,000 Twitter followers, trumping boyfriend McCarron's 110,000. Before the game, Webb -- who graduated with a business degree from longtime Alabama rival Auburn University in 2011, according to her pageant biography -- reportedly had about 2,000.
After carefully weighing the winds of public opinion -- never mind that it was their producers who wouldn't stop showing Webb on camera -- ESPN released a statement Tuesday, saying, "We always try to capture interesting storylines and the relationship between an Auburn grad who is Miss Alabama and the current Alabama quarterback certainly met that test. However, we apologize that the commentary in this instance went too far and Brent understands that."
No he doesn't.
Webb earlier told the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer that she first encountered McCarron on Twitter, and they met in early December when he attended the Miss Alabama USA pageant in Montgomery. The two visited over the holidays and publicly confirmed their romance right before the New Year.
Webb's pageant biography says she was born in Montgomery and worked for Chick-fil-A as a training director in Columbus, Ga., before moving to Los Angeles to pursue modeling. She finished in the top 10 in the national pageant.
Bonner said Webb is considering moving back to Alabama to be with the quarterback.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump has a job offer for her.
Trump, owner of the Miss Universe Organization, tweeted Tuesday, "We are going to ask Katherine Webb to be a judge at the Miss USA Pageant coming up in Las Vegas."
SO THIS IS WHY SHE'S A DISASTER: Because we just don't spend enough time talking about the Lohan family, know that Dina Lohan has sold pictures of herself with a black eye she says ex-husband Michael Lohan gave her back in the '80s.
Entertainment Tonight is displaying on its website a picture of Dina Lohan holding Lindsay as a small child, while sporting a bright shiner on her eye. Dina Lohan went public earlier this week, saying Lindsay's constant problems are likely the result of seeing her mother being abused by her father when she was young.
During an interview with the New York Daily News, the mother of four alleged that Michael physically abused her in front of their daughter Lindsay, saying "that's why she's so screwed up."
Well, good to know it had nothing to do with Dina. Obviously she had no choice when it came to pushing her child into the entertainment industry.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Dina revealed details about the alleged abuse, saying, "I will tell my story, about abuse and how I've survived it and how my children have survived it. It shed some light on my children's behavior, having to witness it."
Michael Lohan, of course, vehemently denied abusing his ex-wife, telling ET, "(Dina) hit me with an ice tray, and I turned around and swung. I didn't punch her. I didn't do anything deliberately to attack her. I swung out of reflex ... she's twisting everything."
The story surfaced after Lindsay Lohan didn't show up in court Monday morning, where prosecutors were supposed to determine whether or not to charge her for allegedly assaulting a psychic who allegedly was trying to steal the guy she was kind of stalking (we say that the nicest way possible ... really). The case was continued.
Photos appeared of Lindsay Lohan in London last weekend, where some websites have alleged she was paid $100,000 to party with Middle Eastern royalty.
Funny enough, Dina was allegedly there with her. She went public with the abuse story after reporters started asking about Lindsay's no-show in court.
"Lindsay saw her dad abuse me -- that's why she's so screwed up."
"Michael beat the hell out of me," Dina told the Daily News, of the alleged 1986 incident. "When Lindsay saw the photo, she was furious," said Dina. "She said, 'Tell the world! Talk about it!'"
Dina said she was forced to live with her parents as Michael went in and out of jail for insider trading and securities fraud. She says he came to visit her in 1990 and raped her.
"He said, 'I love you and I want to be with you,' but then it went dark. It went dark really quick," said Dina, adding that Michael raped her as her children slept.
"(They) were sleeping, and I just knew I had to stay quiet -- I don't want to wake them," she said.
When her parents came home later, Dina said they insisted she go to the hospital. The Daily News reported that, according to Nassau County Hospital medical records, Dina did go to the ER to report a rape. She was examined by doctors and her clothes and other evidence was gathered in a rape kit. Notes on the report indicate doctors called the police and also a coalition for abused women.
Dina never pressed charges, she said, because once again, her husband was already on his way to jail.
Michael called Dina's version of events revisionist history, insisting that their sex was consensual. He said Dina invited him to her parents' house and took the lead with their intercourse in a first-floor bedroom.
He said Dina's rape allegation was caused by her jealously when calling hin later that night to discover he was with another woman.
Feel free to go take three or four showers. We'll be here when you get back.
CHARLIE SHEEN NOT DONE BEING CHARLIE SHEEN: Charlie Sheen has a new goddess.
It was really only a matter of time, when you think about it.
TMZ reported Tuesday that Sheen, 47 (going on 60), and 24-year-old porn star Georgia Jones got together in October and wasted very little time in moving their, er, relationship forward. Jones moved in with Sheen almost immediately and has been there since.
And to show how far Sheen has come when it comes to old-fashioned values, know that he especially likes Jones because she only does films with other women. Which wasn't the case with his last porn star girlfriend, Bree Jones.
According to sources, this isn't just some fling, says TMZ. Sheen likes this girl a lot. Obviously, since he hasn't even tried bringing another woman into the relationship yet.
Sheen and Jones made their public debut last week while on vacation in Mexico. Sheen told TMZ, "I was a big fan before we met, and now I'm an even bigger one ... nose to toes, she's as 'top shelf' as they get."
Awww ... .
KIMYE BUYS A MANSION: Well, now we know it's not a sham relationship.
Kim Kardashian and future baby-daddy (as far as we know) Kanye West have bought an $11 million mansion in Bel Air.
There goes the neighborhood.
TMZ reported Tuesday the future parents are buying a 10,000-square-foot home in a private, gated community. America's favorite couple (no, really) made the deal a few weeks ago and they've already gutted it and are designing a 14,000-square-foot dream home in its place.
With that much space, it better have a bowling alley.
The new home will be an Italian-style villa, with a gym, movie theater, full hair and makeup salon, bowling alley (YES!), basketball court, and indoor and outdoor pools.
Their thrilled new neighbors, who will certainly be dropping by soon with welcoming casseroles, include Jennifer Aniston, Chris Paul and Joe Francis.
