The South Bay remains one of the nation's strongest job markets, according to a survey released Tuesday by federal officials.
Over the 12 months that ended in November, Santa Clara County posted job totals that were 3.7 percent higher than the year before.
Only the Austin, Texas, job market was stronger during that same one-year period, with job growth of 4.4 percent.
The San Francisco-San Mateo-Marin region was No. 3, with a 3.4 percent gain, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported.
The East Bay posted job growth during the 12 months of 1.9 percent.
