Simon Cowell is considering hiring Jennifer Love Hewitt to be an 'X Factor' judge, according to Us Weekly.

Yes, he is running out of ideas.

Following the departures of Britney Spears and L.A. Reid after last season, Cowell has two judges spots to fill.

"Simon is very interested," a source told the magazine.

Why?

"This is all just speculation," a representative for the show told the Huffington Post. "No decisions have been made about the panel. Simon and Demi are the only judges confirmed on the panel so far."

Hewitt, 34, known for her TV roles in "Party of Five," "The Ghost Whisperer " and The Client List," actually sort of once had a singing career.

Hewitt was a teen star in Japan when she released her first album in 1992. Seven years later, she had her first charting single, "How Do I Deal," for the "I Know What You Did Last Summer" soundtrack. Her fourth album "BareNaked" made the Billboard Top 200 chart in 2002.

The Huffington Post says Hewitt might be a better fit replacing Khloe Kardashian as Mario Lopez's co-host, after it was announced this week Kardashian won't return.

Kelly Rowland's name has also popped up as a potential judge. The former Destiny's Child singer did some judging on the U.K. version of "X Factor."

"Kelly knows 'The X Factor,' she's aware of what it takes to be a judge and she's also outspoken," a source told the Daily Mail. "Simon has always remained a fan of Kelly's and she's most definitely in the mix to join the judging panel on 'X Factor."
