Police announced the arrest Monday of a former Stanford Hospital & Clinics technician on suspicion of sexual battery.

According to police, David Ira Bradford, 35, of Fremont, inappropriately touched the genitals and breasts of a woman in her 40s on at least two occasions while she was semi-sedated in the clinical decision unit. Bradford and the woman did not previously know each other.

The alleged crimes were reported to police in late February. Detectives worked with hospital administration to identify Bradford as the suspect and the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office ultimately decided to file charges against him, according to police.

Bradford was arrested Sunday at about 9 p.m. on the 34000 block of Calcutta Drive in Fremont, according to police. He was booked into the Main Jail in San Jose for sexual battery by fraud and sexual battery of a hospitalized victim, both felonies, as well as misdemeanor sexual battery.

Detectives said they were not aware of any additional victims.

Anyone with information about Bradford is asked to call the Palo Alto Police Department's 24-hour dispatch center at 650-329-2413. Tipsters who wish to remain anonymous can text or call 650-383-8984, or email paloalto@tipnow.org.
