Western Division, 4 p.m. Feb. 20 Three arrests were made during gang-suppression detail in the area. They included a male who had an outstanding warrant for his arrest, a person in possession of narcotics and another who had outstanding arrest warrants and was in possession of stolen property and burglary tools.

South Second Street, 1 a.m. Feb. 20 Three females accused of yelling gang slurs while assaulting and robbing three people on separate occasions were located several hours later behind McDonald's at San Carlos and Third streets. One was booked into jail. The others, both juveniles, were cited and released to parents.

925 Blossom Hill Road, 1:02 p.m. Feb. 20 A juvenile was punched while trying to stop a person from stealing a bike outside Target.

CAMPBELL

900 block of Sharmon Palms Lane, Friday A Nissan was stolen overnight.

100 block of Curtner Avenue, Friday Four units at a public storage facility were burglarized.

2200 block of South Bascom Avenue, 6:20-11:50 a.m. Friday A residence was burglarized.

600 block of Union Avenue, 12:45 p.m. Friday Police contacted a man seen going through a package and arrested the 25-year-old after determining it was stolen.

Camden Avenue and Erin Way, 11 p.m. Friday A driver, 39, determined to be under the influence and to have an outstanding warrant was arrested during a traffic stop. And so was her passenger, a 37-year-old woman under the influence and in possession of drug paraphernalia, and stolen checks and credit cards.

Sharmon Palms Lane, 1-10:35 a.m. Saturday A green 1997 Saturn was stolen.

600 block of East Hamilton Avenue, 7:30 p.m. Saturday Two people who purchased several items at a store, returned and selected the same items, then tried to return the latter using the original receipt.

900 block of Sharmon Palms Lane, 3 a.m. Saturday Electronics, tools and clothing were stolen sometime after 6 p.m. the day before.

North San Mateo Drive and Baldwin Avenue, 11:52 a.m. Feb. 20 A bicyclist with a scraggly beard tried to steal a purse.

Alpine Way, 6:15 p.m. Friday Vehicles were burglarized.

NEWARK

37700 block of Manzanita Street, 3:51 p.m. Feb. 17 A carjacker who pretended to need directions, then displayed a gun and took off in the resident's 2014 Cadillac CTS was located in Sunnyvale. A pursuit ensued. After collisions with several vehicles and a subsequent foot chase, the 36-year-old man was arrested.

Unnamed location, Sunday A 30-year-old Union City driver who was under the influence, in possession of marijuana for sale and had a sword cane laying across his lap was arrested. When asked if he needed the cane to walk, the man replied yes. "It's my pimp cane," he said. "I use it to strut."

575 High St., Feb. 20 A vehicle was egged and tires were slashed.

2421 Park Blvd., 10:17 a.m. Friday A building was ransacked, but nothing appeared missing.

560 College Ave., 2:22 p.m. Friday Someone broke into a building. It was unknown at the time what was taken.

4100 block of Oak Hill Avenue, 2:02 p.m. Saturday A bike was stolen from a garage.

Clark Way, 9:40 p.m. Saturday A strong-arm robbery was reported.

Bodega Street, 9:25 a.m. Friday A catalytic converter was removed from a female's vehicle.

East Hillsdale Boulevard, 6:48 p.m. Friday Police contacted and admonished a man reported to be selling Armani suits out of a Kia SUV.

Beach Park Boulevard, 10:46 p.m. Friday A resident who received an urgent voice-mail message from Lt. Willis, an alleged San Mateo officer in the "warrants department," learned there was no such person with SMPD.

1030 E. Hillsdale Blvd., 9:22 a.m. Saturday A resident reported receiving a call from a scammer who said she had an outstanding warrant.

Metro Center Boulevard, 2:10 p.m. Sunday A recycle worker accused by a female of threatening her and not paying what she was owed agreed to fork over the full amount: $5 instead of the disputed $4.39.

1100 block of El Camino Real., 9:42 a.m. Saturday An attempt to break into a business was made overnight by someone who tried to kick in the door.

4300 block of Jessica Circle, Thursday A residence was burglarized by someone who entered a rear slider and got away with jewelry.

Fremont Boulevard and Monroe Avenue, Thursday Two men, ages 23 and 24, were arrested during a traffic stop after police found a pound of marijuana for sale and $35,000 in the trunk of their vehicle.

Harrison Avenue, 9:41 a.m. Friday A 15-year-old male on the way out with others when a resident arrived home was located and arrested for residential burglary.

Allerton Street, 11:59 a.m. Friday A young teen on a skateboard reportedly got upset when a driver honked at him and threatened to hit the person's vehicle.

Kentfield Avenue, 6:09 p.m. Friday An iPad and other items were stolen from a residence.

James Avenue, 11:03 p.m. Friday A man yanked a silver chain with a cross from a person's neck and ran off.

Rolison Road, 11:53 p.m. Friday A gray 1996 Ford Mustang was stolen.

Veterans Boulevard, 1:17 p.m. Saturday A front bumper was removed from a vehicle. An attempt to steal the rear bumper was also made.

Highway One north of Capistrano Road, 3:19 p.m. Saturday A 39-year-old San Bruno man stopped for using a cellphone while driving, who insisted the false identification he provided was his, was arrested after police found methamphetamine in his vehicle and numerous stolen items, including two laptop computers, a camera, driver's licenses, identification cards and credit cards and also burglary tools.
