OAKLEY -- Residents here who want to help shape Oakley's future are invited to a meeting Monday where they will get to do just that.
City Council members and employees will be on hand for the community-wide planning session at 6:30 p.m. in the multipurpose room at Freedom High School, 1050 Neroly Road.
Participants will choose three of the six round table discussions on roads and traffic safety, crime, parks and other recreational opportunities, attracting businesses and jobs, two-way communication between City Hall and residents, and managing development in a well thought-out way.
City staff members moderating the talks first will present background information on each topic and describe what actions the city is considering in those areas. They then will turn the discussion over to residents to suggest additional steps it could take, comment and ask questions. Finally, the entire group will review and prioritize the suggestions.
Those who show up will be entered into a drawing for gift cards to local businesses.
