Illegal Immigration

UNDER TITLE 8, Section 1325 of the U.S. Code, "Improper Entry by Alien," any citizen of any country other than the United States who "enters or attempts to enter the United States at any time or place other than as designated by immigration officers; or attempts to enter or obtains entry to the United States by a willfully false misleading representation or the willful concealment of a material fact; has committed a federal crime.''

Violations are punishable by criminal fines and imprisonment for up to six months. Repeat offenses can bring up to two years in prison. Additional civil fines may be imposed at the discretion of immigration judges, but civil fines do not negate the criminal sanctions or nature of the offense.

When will it end?

THE AIRLINES are shutting down or going bankrupt.

Truck drivers are starving as the price of gas has reached an all-time high.

The cost of food is skyrocketing. Many poorer people are going hungry due to the higher cost of food.

The housing market is falling like a rock. Banks are stuck with thousands of unoccupied homes as homeowners walk away from unaffordable

mortgages.

The multi-millionaires are getting richer and the poorer people have reached an all-time low.

Oil companies are bragging about their multi-trillion-dollar profits while we are being stripped of our dollars due to the high cost of gas.

The government is spending trillions of dollars on a useless war. More than 4,300 soldiers have died and all too many are wounded or maimed for the rest of their lives.

Half of the world has so much while the other half has so little. Will it ever end? Being in Iraq will only keep the rest of the world in the hole we dug ourselves into.

We must wait seven more months for the president to change. I feel sorry for the winner.

Will we fall deeper into a rut before we begin to climb out of this world's chaos? I hope the world has enough strength and determination to climb out because it will be a long, hard climb.

One good thing about being at the bottom — there is only one way to go, and that's up.
