Vote no on 98, yes on 99
I WISH to encourage voters to vote no on Proposition 98 and yes on Proposition 99 in the June 3 election.
These are the rent-control issues.
Maintaining these rent controls may become an issue in someone's personal life if they are eliminated now. Because of the housing crisis and numerous home foreclosures, more people than ever are looking to rent.
When people sign petitions to qualify for a ballot measure, I wonder if they actually support the proposal or if they just sign it to help the person circulating the petition.

Energy foolishness
OUR IDIOTIC Congress has passed laws to redirect our fuel needs to ethanol. Many farmers have switched their crops to corn, for ethanol use.
The price of all grains has increased greatly, and availability has been reduced. Now people in poorer countries are starving because of these prices. Who cares?
In 1971, Nixon took our dollar off of the gold standard. We kept the presses running, but who cares?
Because of our energy acts, we have banned all oil and gas drilling in and about the United States.
Just a little look into the future (2010).
We tried to switch to an alternate fuel and failed.
Our dollar was not supported
Oil prices have escalated, because we refuse to drill here.
The price of gasoline goes to $10 a gallon, and bread sells for $10 a loaf.
Also, unemployment is high, but who cares?
Let's blame the Chinese.
