UNION CITY — Officers from several police agencies searched the area near Motel 6 on Whipple Road this afternoon, looking for a man wanted in connection with a Berkeley homicide in May.  

A Burlingame man with eight DUIs still had a valid driver's license when he got his ninth in January because he apparently never hurt or killed anyone.  

"Police initially said about six young men were involved in the attack. But investigators said Tuesday that they now believe that as many as 10 assailants, ranging in age from 15 to their early 20s, committed a 'slew of crimes' against the girl — including raping her and stealing her jewelry.
