Political newcomer Nadja Adolf, 54, was looking to upset incumbents Ana Apodaca and Alan Nagy for one of two seats available on the Newark City Council. Apodaca, 36, was seeking her second term, while Nagy, 67, was running for his eighth. Both incumbents favored Measure L, while Adolf opposed the proposed tax.
