SAN FRANCISCO -- Josh Donaldson drove in a pair of runs with a double and a triple and Josh Reddick hit a two-run homer Thursday night to lead the A's to a 4-0 victory over the Giants in the first game of the Bay Bridge Series at AT&T Park.
Left-hander Scott Kazmir pitched 5 1/3 innings of shutout ball for Oakland, allowing just two hits and three walks. He struck out four. Four A's pitchers limited the Giants to just four hits.
Donaldson drove home Oakland's first run in the third with a double into the corner against San Francisco starter Tim Hudson. In the fifth, after Eric Sogard singled and was sacrificed to second, Donaldson hit a sinking liner to left that got by a diving Michael Morse for a triple.
In the sixth, Hudson surrendered a one-out single to Yoenis Cespedes, who went 2 for 4 with a double, and Reddick followed with a shot into the right field seats. In the bottom half of the inning, Reddick also made a great running catch of a Pablo Sandoval blast at the fence in right-center field.
Hudson pitched six innings and allowed six hits, one walk and struck out six in his first AT&T outing in a Giants uniform. Morse, meanwhile, went 1 for 3 and also dropped a lazy fly ball on his first left field chance for an error.
