A 30-year-old man faces a charge of resisting arrest and violating his probation after he allegedly fled on foot from a car that officers pursued during a high-speed chase.

The man was arrested shortly before 3 p.m. Sunday at Third and Brush streets, Alameda police said. He allegedly exited through the front passenger door of the car, which a patrol officer initially had tried to pull over for speeding, when the vehicle slowed. Police said the case remains under investigation.

TUESDAY, OCT. 2

  • VEHICLE THEFT -- A vehicle was reported stolen about 7:15 a.m. in the 500 block of Central Avenue. Police also said a vehicle was reported stolen about 11:30 p.m. in the 2100 block of Lincoln Avenue.

  • HAZARDOUS MATERIAL -- An AC Transit bus leaked power steering fluid from the 2000 to the 1700 blocks of Webster Street, causing a traffic hazard. The leak happened shortly after 5 p.m., police said.

    WEDNESDAY, OCT. 3

  • DRUG PARAPHERNALIA -- A woman, 50, whom officers contacted as a suspicious person about 12:40 a.m. in the 1100 block of Park Avenue was in possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

  • DRUNKEN DRIVING -- Police arrested a man, 54, on suspicion of drunken driving shortly after 2 a.m. following a traffic accident in the 2800 block of Otis Drive.

  • VEHICLE THEFT -- A vehicle was reported stolen about 8:50 a.m. in the 400 block of Pacific Avenue.

    THURSDAY, OCT. 4

  • PETTY THEFT -- A security guard placed a woman under citizen's arrest at the Lucky supermarket on Marina Village Parkway after she allegedly shoplifted merchandise. The 35-year-old woman faces a petty theft charge, according to police, who learned about the arrest about 4:50 p.m.

    FRIDAY, OCT. 5

  • VEHICLE THEFT -- Vehicles were reported stolen about 7:50 a.m. in the 1300 block of Pearl Street and at 6:50 p.m. in the 500 block of Westline Drive. Police also said an attempted vehicle theft was reported about 11:10 a.m. in the 2700 block of Central Avenue.

  • DRUG POSSESSION -- A traffic stop at 10:20 p.m. at Fernside Boulevard and Liberty Avenue led to the arrest of a 30-year-old man on suspicion of possessing cocaine.

    SATURDAY, OCT. 6

  • RECOVERED STOLEN VEHICLE -- A vehicle reported stolen in San Francisco was recovered about 9:05 a.m. in the 1800 block of Mulberry Street, police said.

  • MARIJUANA POSSESSION -- A man, 42, faces a charge of possessing less than one ounce of marijuana after he was allegedly found with the substance in the 2500 block of Clement Avenue. The man, who was arrested about 11:40 a.m., was searched by police after a routine background check showed he was on probation. He was released at the scene with a citation.

  • VEHICLE THEFT -- A vehicle was reported stolen about 3:05 p.m. in the 2000 block of San Jose Avenue. A vehicle was also reported stolen in the 2100 block of the same street about 5:15 p.m., police said.

  • BURGLARY -- Someone broke into a storage room at a residence in the 200 block of Corpus Christi Road, police said. Police learned about the incident at 3:05 p.m.

    SUNDAY, OCT. 7

  • DRUG POSSESSION -- Police arrested a man, 25, about 2:10 a.m. on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine in the 600 block of Santa Clara Avenue. The man also faces charges of violating his probation, using methamphetamine and possessing narcotics paraphernalia, police said.

  • VEHICLE THEFT -- Vehicles were reported stolen about 10:25 a.m. in the 1000 block of Pacific Avenue and about 11:20 a.m. in the 1300 block of Marina Village Parkway.

  • BURGLARY -- Someone forced open a garage door and then another door that leads into a residence in the 300 block of Ansel Avenue, before stealing a cell phone from off a kitchen counter. The theft was reported at 4:10 p.m. A burglary was also reported just before 8 p.m. in the 300 block of Tucker Avenue, where someone broke a rear window to gain access to a home and stole items from inside.

    MONDAY, OCT. 8

  • VEHICLE THEFT -- A vehicle was reported stolen shortly after 11 a.m. in the 200 block of Maple Way.
