APTOS -- A woman reported missing from Ohio was found sleeping in her car at the vista point on southbound Highway 1 by California Highway Patrol officers.

Jaime Marie Woods and her 8-year-old daughter were discovered by officers about 11:15 p.m. Tuesday while asleep in a Nissan Pathfinder, CHP spokeswoman Sarah Jackson said.

Woods, 36, was reported missing on Oct. 11 to the police department in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.

She was considered possibly suicidal and her daughter was considered to be in a dangerous situation, Jackson said. The girl was taken into custody by Child Protective Services until her father could travel from Ohio.

Woods had only spare change and told officers she had no plans for feeding her daughter or finding a place to stay, Jackson said.

"She had no plan to get home or how to feed her child," Jackson said. "She didn't know what day of week it was."
