PLEASANTON -- A best-selling author will visit the Pleasanton Library on Monday to discuss his new book, one of 25 he has written.

T.A. Barron, whose writing genre is children's fantasy will appear at 7 p.m. at the library, at 400 Old Bernal Ave.

The free event is one of the author's Bay Area stops on a national tour, as he promotes his latest book, "Atlantis Rising."

Barron, who also writes nature books, is the winner of the 2011 de Grummond University of Southern Mississippi Medallion, which is awarded each year to an author who has made outstanding contributions to children's literature.

The author's appearance is being co-hosted by Towne Center Books of Pleasanton.
