BENICIA -- One person was killed after their car crashed Wednesday afternoon on Interstate 680, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The solo vehicle crash was reported about 2:50 p.m. after the driver, who was traveling northbound on the freeway at an unknown speed, slammed into a wall near the Industrial Way on-ramp, CHP officers said.
The driver, who has not been identified, was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
Lanes on I-680 were shut down for over two hours as CHP officers investigated the incident.
All lanes were clear and open around 4:42 p.m.
