PLEASANTON -- They say it's the most wonderful time of the year, and that might be true for downtown retailers after a pair of upcoming special events.

The Holiday Spirit Strollwill be 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday. For a $30 advance ticket, downtown shoppers can sample beer, wine and cocktails at 15 Main Street spots.

Advance tickets bought online must be redeemed for a voucher between 3:30 and 6 p.m. on Saturday at Museum on Main, 603 Main St.

The event is sponsored by the Pleasanton Downtown Association, that promote downtown area businesses and its nearly 600 merchants.

"This is a first-time event for downtown Pleasanton, and we wanted to do something funs," said Julie Vlahon, the Pleasanton Downtown Association's events manager. "We're using local breweries, wineries and bars so shoppers can enjoy a taste of downtown."

Advance tickets may also be bought at Main Street businesses, such as Studio Seven Arts, Clover Creek and Berry Patch. Beginning at 3:30 p.m., same-day tickets priced at $35 can be purchased, with cash only, at Museum on Main. For Stroll details, visit www.PleasantonDowntown.net.
