BRENTWOOD -- Police here are looking for another suspect who was involved in a home invasion robbery on New Year's Day.

Brentwood officers responded about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday to the 800 block of Greenstone Court, where one of the residents had reported that the perpetrators had just fled in a car.

The suspects threw a loaded .45 caliber pistol out of the 1988 Pontiac Grand Am they were driving before abandoning the vehicle in the 1500 block of Autumn Valley Way and taking off on foot.

Going by the victims' descriptions, police initially caught up with two of them -- Antonio Tafoya, 20, of Pittsburg and a 16-year-old, also from Pittsburg.

Police nabbed a third suspect, Alvin Patterson, 18, of Brentwood, in the 2100 block of Sand Creek Road.

Detectives assigned to the case determined that the crime wasn't random: The victims knew at least two of the suspects, who recently had been welcome guests in the home.

All three individuals were arrested on charges of armed robbery and false imprisonment.

Police are still trying to identify the fourth suspect. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Detective George Aguirre at 925-809-7726.
