OAKLEY -- A 19-year-old Oakley man has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting Sunday morning of a 23-year-old Antioch man, police said Monday.
Michael Arthur-Sanchez Martin of Oakley was arrested and booked into County Jail in Martinez on suspicion of murder, conspiracy, shooting into an inhabited dwelling and participating in a criminal street gang, according to an Oakley police news release.
Martin, also charged with a probation violation, is being held without bail.
At 11:42 a.m. Sunday, a man later identified as Jesse Hernandez of Antioch was found by police with a gunshot wound on the sidewalk in front of a residence on the 500 block of Norcross Lane. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.
Another shooting at 5:48 p.m. that afternoon in the area of Walnut Meadows and Vintage Parkway was linked to the shooting of Hernandez, police said. No one was shot in that incident, but one person received minor injuries from broken glass.
