SAN JOSE -- One person died and at least two people were injured during a multi-vehicle crash Saturday morning on early Highway 101 in South San Jose, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Emergency crews were called just before 2 a.m. to southbound Highway 101 just north of Blossom Hill Road in San Jose for a report of a crash involving at least four vehicles and major injuries, Officer Eric Anderson said.
At least one person suffered fatal injuries and two other people were transported to local hospitals to be treated for unknown injuries, Anderson said. Their identities were not immediately disclosed.
Officers shut down all lanes of Highway 101, which was reopened to traffic at 4:35 a.m., Anderson said. The cause of the wreck remained under investigation Saturday.
