Looking for a cat that wants to snuggle up in your lap and get cuddles? Do you need a nice warm cat-blanket on these cold nights? Well look no further, Liger's the girl for you. This 9-year-old loves almost everyone she meets (though young children can sometimes be a bit too rambunctious for her), and she's a great house cat -- she always uses her litter box and scratching post. This lovely lady is waiting patiently for a new lap (and home) to call her own. While Liger suffered an injury to her leg and had to have an amputation, this resilient girl is hardly fazed; she's adjusting and learning how to navigate the world on three legs like a champ.
A note from her foster family: "Miss Liger has been one of the most loving and affectionate cats we've ever seen. She's still adjusting to life as a three-legged cat, and spends most of her day sleeping off her recent surgery and three-legged exertions, but every evening without fail she'll hop on out and spend a good hour rubbing her face on our arms and getting endless pets and scratches. She has the softest coat, and particularly loves being petted down the length of her spine and getting her belly rubbed when she flops over onto her side. Liger would do best in a slightly subdued home -- while she isn't afraid of strangers, she does get spooked if we accidentally drop something, or make sudden movements, and still needs some help when she tries to jump up places like a four-legged cat.
Thanks to a generous donation from Maddie's Fund, Liger's adoption fee has been waived.
To meet her, stop by the Berkeley East Bay Humane Society during adoption hours from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays at 2700 Ninth St. For more information, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or call 510-845-3633, ext. 14.
