MONDAY, May 13

  • INDECENT EXPOSURE -- About 8 a.m. a caller reported that approximately 20 minutes earlier near Santa Fe Avenue and Key Route Boulevard, a person described as a white male adult in his 30s with dark hair and carrying a backpack whistled to get the caller's attention. When the caller looked, the man exposed himself. Officers took the report.

  • POSSIBLE WEAPON -- Officers received a report about 3 p.m. regarding a person described as a black male adult, bald, about 6 feet tall, wearing a black coat, with a red duffle bag and carrying a long gun that was possibly fake. The man was seen pointing the gun at people and then walking northbound on the BART path near Albany Middle School. He was gone when officers arrived.

  • WARRANT -- About 8:30 p.m. officers investigated reports of a man acting suspiciously behind a bush looking into the garage area of 535 Pierce St. Officers arrested the Oakland man on an outstanding warrant.

  • HOME BREAK-IN -- Sometime during the day, unknown thieves broke into a home on Key Route Boulevard through a bedroom window and stole items from inside. Officers took the report.

    TUESDAY, May 14

  • AUTO THEFT -- Unknown thieves stole a car that was parked on Hillside Avenue during the night.

  • TOW -- About 2 p.m. officers towed a car that was blocking a driveway on Santa Fe Avenue.

    WEDNESDAY, May 15

  • AUTO RECOVERY -- Officers located a vehicle on Kains Avenue at about 10:30 a.m. that had been reported stolen from Oakland. The owner was notified.

  • AUTO RECOVERY -- A stolen vehicle was located on San Pablo Avenue about 2:30 p.m. and towed.

    THURSDAY, May 16

  • WARRANT -- About 1 a.m., officers investigated a person near Solano Avenue and Madison Street who was acting suspiciously. They arrested the Albany man on an outstanding warrant.

  • AUTO BREAK-IN -- During the night, unknown thieves broke into a car parked in the carport area of a residence on Kains Avenue and stole items from inside.

  • THEFT -- About 10 a.m. officers received a call from Jay Vee Liquors regarding a person described as a white male adult with glasses and wearing a blue jacket and black pants who stole beer from the store. The caller reported having the theft recorded on the store security system. Officers are investigating.

  • DUI -- Officers stopped a car near Dartmouth Street and Key Route Boulevard for a vehicle code violation about 10 a.m. They arrested the driver, an Albany man, on suspicion of DUI and drug possession.

  • AUTO THEFT -- During the night, unknown thieves stole a vehicle from the parking area of an apartment building on Brighton Avenue.

  • DOUBLE ARREST -- About 12:30 p.m., officers responded to Target on the 1000 block of Eastshore when security guards reported someone in custody on suspicion of theft. Officers arrested two Berkeley women; one was charged with fraudulent use of a credit card and the other was charged with auto theft.

  • ASSAULT -- A visually impaired person reported being pushed off the curb of a walkway near the Orientation Center for the Blind on Adams Street about 11 p.m. The caller described the attacker as a person about 5 feet 4 inches tall wearing a hat and jacket. The caller reportedly hit the attacker with his cane. Officers took the report.

    FRIDAY, May 17

  • DUI -- About 12:30 a.m. officers arrested an Albany man on the 700 block of San Pablo Avenue on suspicion of two counts of DUI.

  • VANDALISM -- During the night, unknown vandals smashed the driver's side mirror of a car parked on Washington Avenue.

  • VANDALISM -- Officers received a report that at about 3 a.m. the security camera at Albany Pool recorded a group of about 15 youths smashing glass bottles on the pool deck. Officers are investigating.

  • HIT AND RUN -- About 10:30 a.m. a caller reported that during the night the person's car was hit by an unknown vehicle, causing the mirror to be smashed. Also, a mirror, possibly belonging to the unknown vehicle, was found on the floor of the damaged car. Officers took the report.

  • DRUGS -- Shortly before midnight, officers investigated a group of five juveniles near Solano and Ramona avenues who were acting suspiciously. They arrested a 16-year-old El Cerrito boy and two 17-year-old boys from El Sobrante and Richmond on suspicion of drug possession.

    SATURDAY, May 18

  • AUTO THEFT -- During the night, unknown thieves stole a vehicle that was parked on Curtis Street.

    SUNDAY, May 19

  • CONCERN -- Officers received a call about 2 p.m. regarding a man who appeared to be passed out on the sidewalk near Buchanan and Pierce streets. The man had departed before officers arrived.

  • ATTEMPTED THEFT -- At about 4:30 p.m., security at the Target store reported that they had stopped a woman who had attempted to steal clothing items, but the woman left the items and fled the store. She was last seen leaving the parking lot in an older-model vehicle, possibly an Acura. She was gone when officers arrived.
