ALBANY -- The city and Berkeley Food and Housing Project are hosting a kickoff meeting to discuss the goals and processes of the homeless outreach and engagement program known as Project HOPE (Housing Opportunities Expanded) at 6 p.m. July 25 at the Community Center, 1249 Marin Ave.
BFHP was selected in June by the city to administer its program addressing the city's homeless population, particularly those living at the Albany Bulb.
The community meeting will discuss the housing process and locations, the new mobile housing van and services, and introduce housing case managers Jo Ferlatte and Carmen Francois. Solano Community Church will present information on its new buddy program.
BHFP and Solano Community Church, which has been working on the issue for a number of years, will work together to contact and assist homeless individuals at the bulb and other areas and provide information on available services and work to assist those contacted in finding housing.
More details on Project HOPE are on the city website at www.albanyca.org/index.aspx?page=1281.
