Brian Komei Dempster, editor of "From Our Side of the Fence" and "Making Home From War: Stories of Japanese American Exile and Resettlement," will give a free presentation at the Friends of the Albany Library meeting at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the library, 1247 Marin Ave.

Dempster, whose first book of poetry, "Topaz," will be released in mid-October, will be joined by Toru Saito and Ruth Ichinaga, who will share their personal stories of internment during World War II. At the time they were interned, Saito was a San Francisco resident and Icihinaga lived in Berkeley.

The talk will follow a membership meeting of the friends group at 7 p.m. Refreshments will be served and a selection of books will be available for sale after the program.
