About 300 people took part in a rally and march at Frank Ogawa Plaza in Oakland to protest the killing of Alan Blueford, along with racial profiling and police brutality. Among the speakers were Blueford's parents Jeralynn and her husband Adam. Blueford was an 18-year-old Skyline High School student who was killed by Oakland Police Officer Miguel Masso on May 6, 2012. ILWU Local 10 and SEIU Local 1021 pledged their support for the Justice 4 Alan Blueford campaign. Peaceful demonstrators marched down Broadway on their way to the Oakland Police Department headquarters after the rally.
