Elo Touch Solutions has struck a deal to move its headquarters and 150 employees to Milpitas, hoping to improve its recruitment of employees to work at the touch-screen company.
"This move will allow us to have employee growth over time," said Trent Waterhouse, chief marketing officer with Elo Touch. "We will have some elbow room for expansion."
Menlo Park-based Elo Touch is moving about 150 employees from its current offices to the new headquarters in Milpitas next March.
"We are excited to be neighbors with the high-tech innovators in Milpitas and the broader Silicon Valley community," Elo Touch CEO Craig Witsoe said in a prepared release.
Elo Touch expects to move in March to 1033 McCarthy Blvd.
Before it picked its future headquarters, Elo Touch scouted for a range of options across Silicon Valley, said Mike Saign, a Cornish & Carey Commercial Newmark Knight Frank vice president who advised and represented Elo Touch.
Elo Touch agreed to lease 75,000 square feet in a building that is part of a five-building campus called Murphy Crossings. Cornish & Carey senior vice presidents Jeff Arrillaga, Kurt Heinrich and Chris Shaffer represented landlord Spear Street Capital.
The company hopes Milpitas will be a more convenient site for existing employees and to help it attract recruits.

The site also will accommodate an array of operations in addition to the headquarters and administrative activities.
"We have not only research and development teams, we are doing prototype manufacturing," Waterhouse said. "We will have that prototype capability in our new facility."
The company makes touchscreens, touch computers and associated components for a number of industries.
Elo Touch's technology can be used in kiosks, point of sale devices, hotel displays, industrial automation, medical devices, point-of-sale machines in stores, transportation displays and touch screen slot machines for the gaming industry.
This deal extends a remarkable surge of leases for the technology industry in the Bay Area, including the South Bay.
"We continue to track above average demand in the market," Saign said. Cornish & Carey is tracking over 10 million square of active tenant requirements throughout Silicon Valley.
Google (GOOG), Apple (AAPL), Dell, Microsoft, VMWare, Facebook, Lab 126, Samsung, Infoblox and Polycom are among the tech companies that have pushed ahead with major expansions over the last year or so in Silicon Valley.
