ANTIOCH -- Ten residents were displaced from an Antioch apartment building Monday after a fire spread into the common attic and burned four of the building's six units, the Fire Marshal said.
About 7:30 p.m., firefighters responded to a one-alarm fire at the Delta View Apartments, located at 3915 Delta Fair Blvd., Fire Marshal Lewis Broschard said. First responders found a large column of smoke and one apartment unit fully engulfed in flames upon arrival.
Firefighters from Antioch and Pittsburg were able to contain the flames to the attic and four of the six units, and knocked down the blaze by about 7:45 p.m., Broschard said.
No injuries were reported in the blaze, Broschard said.
The fire appeared to have started in the rear-unit of the six-unit apartment building, Broschard said. The fire was deemed by investigators to be accidental.
Cost of damage to the building is estimated at $500,000, Broschard said. The ten residents displaced by the fire are being assisted by the American Red Cross in finding temporary housing.
