SAN FRANCISCO -- A 19-year-old woman remained hospitalized with life-threatening injuries Monday afternoon after she and a man were found bound and gagged in the middle of a street in San Francisco's Bayview District Sunday night, police said.
The man, in his early 20s, died as a result of his injuries, said Officer Albie Esparza. Police are investigating the man's death as a homicide.
The victims were found about 8:30 p.m. Sunday in the 900 block of Brussels Street. Both were alive at the time they were found, but the man was unconscious, Esparza said. The man's name has not yet been released.
The victims were transported to San Francisco General Hospital where the man died about midnight, police said.
The motive for the crime was not known and the incident remained under investigation Monday, police said.
No arrests have been made.
