SAN LEANDRO -- Many dozens of Alameda County residents complain to authorities about bedbugs every year and infestations of the public health pests are on the rise. A lack of information is one of the reasons, according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
In response, the Alameda County Environmental Health Department is sponsoring a free "Bed Bug Boot Camp" Jan. 22 at the San Leandro Main Library.
The educational event is intended for rental property managers and owners, inspectors and other professionals involved in rental properties in Alameda County.
Topics to be discussed include prevention and control. The panel will also discuss legal issues with bedbugs, inspection and monitoring. The event runs 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the San Leandro library, 300 Estudillo Ave.
Registration is required by Jan. 15. Contact Daniel Wilson at 510-567-6826 or email@example.com.
