LIVERMORE -- A 28-year-old man was found dead with what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds near a golf course on Saturday morning, police said Sunday.
A man who lives on Galaxy Court called 911 at 7:21 a.m. after a female jogger screamed for help and said the man was not responsive, according to Livermore police. Authorities declared the man, identified as Kenneth Robert Ogden of Livermore, dead at the scene.
His body was found in a grassy area behind Galaxy Court, which borders the Springtown Golf Course and bicycle paths.
Livermore police released few details about the death, but said it appeared Ogden had suffered from multiple gunshot wounds and are investigating the death as suspicious. The official cause of death is pending the results of an autopsy, which is scheduled for Wednesday.
If the death is determined to be a homicide it would be the city's first in 2012.
Officer Traci Rebiejo, a police department spokeswoman, said there is no indication that the death is gang related.
Police are asking for the public's help in identifying suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call Rebiejo at 925-371-4858.
