OAKLAND -- A man is in stable condition after being shot multiple times on New Year's Eve, police said.

Officers were dispatched about 6 p.m. to the 2500 block of East 16th Street for a report of shots being fired, said Officer Kevin McDonald.

When police arrived, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds, McDonald said.

The victim was taken to a hospital in stable condition.

McDonald said three suspects armed with guns were seen fleeing the area in an unidentified vehicle.
