ANTIOCH -- A pregnant woman was taken to a hospital as a precaution Wednesday morning after her car was rear-ended by a hit-and-run driver, authorities said.
The collision was reported about 10:16 a.m. on westbound Highway 4 near the A Street exit, according to California Highway Patrol Officer James Evans. A white pickup truck rear-ended the woman's Honda, then took off.
A passing ambulance stopped at the scene and took the woman to a hospital to check her condition.
The CHP was still investigating the crash. There was no further description available of the driver of the pickup truck.
The accident blocked the left lane of traffic until about 11:25 a.m., causing a backup all the way to Highway 160, according to Sigalert.com.
