In 2013, Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter remains committed to continue providing the very best possible care for the animals in the shelter and to help pet owners with information and other resources.
We have a number of events designed to raise the funds needed to provide the animals in the shelter with the best possible care. We hope to see you at our fundraising events. Dates and information provided below.
Jan.16 -- Pet Loss Support Group meets from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the FAAS Shelter 1590 Fortmann Way, led by by Jill Goodfriend, RN, LCSW. For more information or to RSVP, contact Goodfriend at 510-393-1359.
Many pet owners consider their pet a friend, companion or family member. When a pet passes away, the pet owner often experiences the intense pain that accompanies the loss of that friend. FAAS is committed to supporting the community in this very special way by hosting the pet loss support group with Goodfriend.
Jan. 19 -- Mobile Adoption will be held from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Pet Food Express 2661 Blanding at Broadway.
Jan. 23 -- Benefit Dinner "Dine and Donate" for FAAS at Tomatino, 1338 Park St.
Please mark your calendar for Jan. 23 from 11:30 a.m.-10 p.m. When you dine at Tomatina on Jan. 23, 20 percent of the food and beverage sales will be donated to FAAS. Please note you need to print and present the flyer to your server. You can print the flyer at this link on the FAAS website, http://www.alamedaanimalshelter.org/news-and-events/. You can click the "click here" link for the flyer.
