San Jose State's leading scorer James Kinney and starting forward Louis Garrett didn't travel with the Spartans on their trip as they serve indefinite suspensions for violating team rules.
They weren't in the lineup for Thursday's 73-37 loss to Denver and won't play Saturday at New Mexico State. They also didn't make the trip when San Jose State lost at Utah State on Jan. 11.
After the Utah State game, coach George Nessman said the players "were left behind for failure to meet team policies," according to a school release. "They had something they need to do at home."
It is the second suspension for Kinney, who didn't play in a Dec. 22 loss to James Madison in Las Vegas. He is averaging a WAC-leading 20.6 points per game. The Spartans are 9-5 with Kinney and 0-3 without him.
