SAN FRANCISCO -- The U.S. Coast Guard rescued a surfer from the the rocks near the Cliff House Monday.

The surfer managed to climb onto the rocks near Seal Rock just after 11:30 a.m. As helicopter hovered overhead, two rescue swimmers left the beach area and swam out to the rocks.

The stranded surfer jumped back into the water with his surfboard and the three paddled away from the rocks where a rescue boat swooped in and picked them up.
