SAN LEANDRO -- San Leandro is hosting a town hall meeting for residents of Districts 3 and 4 at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 30.
The event -- to be held in the Titan Auditorium of the Marina Community Center -- will cover neighborhood safety, the new Kaiser Permanente Medical Center under construction, the overpass and carpool lane construction planned on Interstate 880, and proposed ordinances on medical marijuana dispensaries and on the raising of chickens and bees by residents. Mayor Stephen Cassidy and Council members Diana Souza and Benny Lee are scheduled to attend. Districts 3 and 4 cover residents in the center and southwest parts of the City.
"Town Hall meetings provide an invaluable resource for sharing information of interest to individual neighborhoods, gathering feedback from the community, and making our City government more transparent," Cassidy said in a statement.
