UNION CITY -- The Community Oriented Policing and Problem Solving unit, also known as COPPS, is inviting residents to a meeting Thursday night about crime prevention.
The COPPS unit coordinates neighborhood watch programs, organizes festivals and resolves neighborhood disputes within the city, Cmdr. Ben Horner said.
At the meeting, COPPS unit members will review the previous year's crime trends, list the police department's goals for 2013 and introduce new officers, Horner said.
The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the CERT building, next to the Alameda County fire station at 33355 Central Ave. in Union City.
