OAKLAND -- The Oakland Museum of California is offering food, entertainment and, of course, art during its "Friday Nights at OMCA" series debuting Friday.

Every Friday night, the museum will stay open from 5-9 p.m. for special in-gallery events, exhibits and access to the regular museum collection, as well as free films, live music and dancing. A cash bar will be available in the Blue Oak Café for drinks and food trucks will be stationed outside to provide sustenance.

Admission is half price during "Friday Nights at OMCA," sponsored in part by the Walter and Elise Haas Fund. Regular museum admission is $12 general; $9 seniors and students; $6 youth ages nine to 17; and free for members and children eight and under. The museum is at 1000 Oak St. For more information, visit museumca.org.
