SAN LEANDRO -- Police are looking for a man who reportedly exposed himself to a woman outside of an elementary school on Wednesday before riding away on his bicycle.

A woman picking up her child about 5 p.m. from Jefferson School at 14300 Bancroft Ave. said that a man rode up to her on a bicycle and started making small talk, Lt. Randall Brandt said. As the woman looked over at the man, she realized he had his zipper down and was exposing his genitals as he spoke to her.

The man pedalled away eastbound on Bancroft Avenue as the woman went to tell someone, Brandt said. It was not immediately known whether her child was with her at the time.

The man is described as Caucasian with light brown hair, 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing about 200 pounds. He was wearing a green polo shirt and bluejeans.

"Our investigators are taking this incident very seriously and we would encourage any witnesses to this incident to come forward," Brandt said,
