WALNUT CREEK -- Three San Francisco women suspected of burglarizing a downtown Macy's store did not get very far on Saturday evening before police stopped and arrested them.

Walnut Creek police said the three women ran into the Macy's men's store at Broadway Plaza just before 6:30 p.m., grabbed several pieces of unspecified merchandise, ran back out and fled into a vehicle parked outside.

A police officer spotted the vehicle a short time later driving toward Highway 24 on Mt. Diablo Boulevard.

Arrested were Julie Keresoma, Lachandra Dunn and Danina Prestley, each on suspicion of burglary, conspiracy and possession of stolen property.

Police transported them to the County Jail in Martinez, where they were being held on $60,000 bail.
