PITTSBURG -- Police have identified two more suspects being sought in the shooting death of a man at a gas station last week.
Robert Cary Grant, 24, and Demetria Thomas, 19, were both participants in the shooting that killed Timothy Smith Jr., 20, of Pittsburg, according to Pittsburg police Lt. Ron Raman. Smith was shot about 9 a.m. Jan. 29 at the Unocal gas station at 2150 Railroad Ave., police said.
Smith was "definitely the target of this incident," Raman said, but he declined to elaborate further on the motive for the shooting.
Grant and Thomas both remain at large, along with Brian Keith Fox, 22, who police named as a suspect last week. Less than an hour after the shooting, police surrounded a small home in Bay Point where they found a car believed to be linked to the shooting, but did not find Fox.
All three suspects are believed to be armed and dangerous, Raman said. Both Fox and Grant are on probation for drug and weapons convictions, he said.
"They shot ... and killed somebody in broad daylight, and we are actively looking for them," Raman said. All three are believed to frequent the Oakland and San Francisco areas, he added.
