SAN FRANCISCO -- A federal judge on Tuesday sentenced a Hayward woman to 10 years in prison for the possession and distribution of oxycodone, authorities said.
Ella Mae Simpson, 55, pleaded guilty May 18 to several charges involving the distribution and possession of the drug, federal prosecutors said in a news release.
The charges stemmed from several incidents in 2011. On June 9, 2011, police seized more than $235,000 and with a firearm from Simpson's home, prosecutors said. She later admitted to possessing and selling the drug over several months, prosecutors said.
Simpson was sentenced Tuesday to a decade in prison and was also ordered to forfeit the money. The judge also imposed a three-year period of supervised release.
Simpson was ordered to report to prison on March 22.
