monday, jan. 28

  • 9:32 a.m. -- Mountain Avenue. Someone tried to force open a rear door at a residence in what police said was an attempted burglary. It occurred sometime between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

  • 4:53 p.m. -- King Avenue. A caller reported the theft of a package from off a front porch.

  • 9:46 p.m. -- Ricardo Avenue. Police arrested a man for public intoxication after a caller initially reported him as a suspicious person, saying he tried to open a car door as he was walking down the street.

    tuesday, jan. 29

  • 9:43 a.m. -- Indian Road. A vehicle break-in was reported. A vehicle break-in was also reported at 10:38 a.m. on Ricardo Avenue, where police said a GPS was stolen.

    wednesday, Jan. 30

  • 12:17 a.m. -- Monticello Avenue. A caller reported hearing what sounded like up to five gunshots, possibly from inside a residence. Police did not locate anything suspicious in the neighborhood, however.

  • 11:35 a.m. -- Cambrian Street. A resident reported identity theft.

  • 3:04 p.m. -- Monte Avenue. A woman told police that someone rifled through her vehicle and stole sunglasses between 6 p.m. Wednesday and 9 am. Thursday. The vehicle may have been unlocked, police said.

  • 12:10 p.m. -- La Salle Avenue. A hit-and-run traffic accident was reported.

    saturday, feb. 2

  • 1:59 a.m. -- Kingston & Greenbank avenues. A vehicle break-in was reported.

  • 4:35 p.m. -- Waldo Avenue. A resident reported identity theft.

    sunday, Feb. 3

  • 10:51 a.m. -- Trestle Glen Road. Someone used a brick to break a vehicle window and steal an iPod from inside, police said.
